I started classes a few weeks ago and I absolutely love it!! The studio, the lesson structure, the regulations, and especially the teachers, every single aspect of this studio is truly wonderful. I took lessons in the past, my children took lessons when they were young, my grandchild took lessons…so I have a few places to make an objective comparison and I have no hesitation to say this is the place to learn to play an instrument and love music!🎶 🎵 🎶” - Maria Luisa

Deanna and Andrew Wilson,

Owners and Instructors

Since 2015, the Wilsons have been fixtures on the Central Texas music scene. They started Wilson School of Strings in Cedar Park, which grew in 5 short years to a full studio of 180 plus students with weekly jam sessions, monthly performances and exciting group classes.  The teaching staff included Andrew and Deanna, their 2 oldest sons Jake and Zack, plus several other young adult musicians from the area. In March 2020, the business rather abruptly converted to an online music school, and the Wilsons have been perfecting the art of online content since then. In addition to being teachers to students all over the country, Andrew and Deanna perform as the duo Wilson and Wilson Music and as part of several Central Texas bands. The kids are all grown up and nearby- each will contribute their musical and technical skills to Tune Up and Jam ATX in Liberty Hill, TX. Thrilled to be back in a physical location, the Wilsons will continue to use a hybrid teaching approach- meaning that all assignments are available online, students can access new assignments and progress to the next level online, and creating video and other recordings is part of the curriculum, preparing students for the modern world of musicianship- whether amateurs or aspiring professionals, students will have access to the technology and modern approaches in learning to help them become proficient on their instrument. Online courses and memberships are offered to students both local and in other states.

Tune Up and Jam ATX is located in the same parking lot as Winkley's General Store at 21 County Road 200, Building A, Liberty Hill, TX

Deanna Wilson

Piano, Guitar, Ukulele, Beginner Fiddle

Growing up in a family band on a bus, Deanna took her early piano lessons to heart and learned stringed instruments for jamming at festivals and fiddle contests- whenever there wasn't a piano to play! At Tune up and Jam ATX, you will probably talk or chat with Deanna first- in addition to being the main piano teacher and floating instructor, Deanna manages the business, website, and marketing.

Andrew Wilson

Fiddle, Guitar, Ukulele, Jam Leader

Since he began to grasp how to play music himself in his early teens, Andrew has been teaching other people to play. Kids love his sense of humor and prizes for class competitions, while adults come away from his classes with new revelations every week. When he's not teaching at Tune Up and Jam ATX, Andrew teaches online classes, produces content for YouTube and his online group for adult musicians, and plays fiddle with multiple bands across Texas.

Jake Wilson

Ukulele, Beginner Fiddle, Guitar, Mandolin, Bass

Deanna and Andrew's oldest son Jake has been part of the family business practically since he was born! He teaches independently in addition to being on staff at Tune Up and Jam ATX. Jake is an in-demand bass player for bands throughout Texas and beyond, playing upright and electric bass in Western Swing and Country bands such as Billy Mata and Jake Worthington.
